First Week Favorites: Sports’ Day

Every year there is a Sports’ Day. This year they did it differently and it’s good because the Campers all participate.  They are divided by their “Speakout Groups”, the same groups that they discuss their morning class.  They rotated to different “stations” and the one was American Football which Jared organized. 

Jared is in the middle and Jeremy is in the blue shirt throwing the ball.  Jeremy was on STINT with us and is now in Hungary full-time! Jared was the quarterback of the one team and Jeremy was of the other.

It’s so fun to see Jared in his element…teaching what he loves!

 

 

Here is Dani.  He trusted Christ last Speakout and is back as Staff this year.  He is so “on fire” and shares his faith with such an incredible witness—God has blessed his sharing so much and we are so thankful for him!

He loves American football and plays here.  His favorite team is the Philadelphia Eagles!  So, we are loving that!

 

Another one of the stations was Ultimate Frisbee.  This gets very intense and is very fun!

  Basketball is another one of the stations.

 

Anita my “little sister” was amazed that in the football game she played she caught the ball for a touchdown!  She said, “I couldn’t believe it! I lifted my hands up and there was the ball!!??” She had been saying how she is “no good” at Sports and so she didn’t know how competing would go…well, this is how it went!  She is re-enacting it here:-)

After the competition part was done, JJ was up from his nap and had the best time just playing any kind of sport with anyone who would play with him!

Below right, Larissa, who I met with prior to coming, is being crazy and climbing a high fence! She has the energy of a two year-old! I love her!

Remember how I told you that everyone is noticing JJ’s calves?  Well, here is Jenna pointing out JJ’s calves to one of the campers…isn’t it funny?  JJ’s like “Dude, what are you doing?”
