Last Days in Bp touring with my hubby...

Unfortunately, I was sick and sooo tired for the first day of touring, so Jared and I just rested...but I was determined to make the most of the next and last day to see some of my favorite parts of the city...

This is from Gellert Hill, one of the places I wanted to go to. Jared and I dropped JJ off with Julie for his morning nap and hiked up to the top.

This is a view of the Szechenyi Lanchid (Chain bridge) and Parliament which both appear below much closer.
This was during JJ's afternoon nap. Jared and I took a tram close to the Chain Bridge and walked across it and along the river. Behind the bridge you can see the castle district.

Here is the beautiful Parliament building. As you can see there is some scaffolding to the right. They are cleaning (re-surfacing) the front of the building. They were doing this when we were on STINT (on the right side 2 years ago too!) It is a painstaking process, but the cleaned surface is beautiful as you can see below!

We weren't sure where we'd go to finish out the afternoon, but since we had decided not to get souvenir gifts (because we had gotten them before...) we walked (a long walk) to Margit Sziget. It is a historic, beautiful island that is a part of the city.

This is the fountain that sings in the center of the island. I had never gotten to see this fountain in action when we were there before, so it was great. We were a little sad that JJ wasn't with us as we know he would have loved it!

Another picture of the island as you are exiting...

An ABSOLUTE MUST for me was to see the "City By Night" from the Castle District. I think it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen...TRULY MAJESTIC! So we took JJ up (past his bedtime) and stayed only a little time, but it was worth it! Our bus coming down from the Castle had a blowout...this was a first for us and a little scary. Thankfully we were close to our final stop!

Last days in Bp (continued)...

RUB-A-DUB-DUB, Three precious lil ones in a tub!

Julie and I had talked about how fun it would be to put Jasper and JJ in the tub together...She was bathing her two and said "oh, we've got to get JJ in here too!" Since she only had one baby bath seat, she suggested we stick a booster seat in the tub for JJ! It was great fun! Jasper was stuck between 2 splashers and was a little champ blinking away all of the splashes!Julie got a cone of fagyi for Jasper...he enjoyed it so much that we decided...

to get one for JJ too! As you can see, he loved it too!

"mmmmm, JJ love FAGYI!"

Last Days in Bp...

Even we left less than a week ago, it feels like much longer:-( These pics make me sad as I post them...I took these when I came back to Bp (aka Budapest) with Julie. They "struck" me as such distinct things that are a part of being in Europe...

Eli is thinking of Huckles (his kitty lovie) to help him smile as he's forgotten how while we ride the tram.

Our little stroller boys "parked" on the tram. JJ loved riding in it.

This is the inner courtyard of the apartment complex of the English Christian library where Julie goes...I decided to take a picture because I thought "only in Europe" would you take an elevator and find this quaint little library where you ring the bell and a sweet British lady lets you in.

Jasper and JJ were quite the duo getting into trouble...here JJ is sucking on the letter "O" from a Noah's Ark toy they had to keep little ones entertained.

Here is JJ in the TEENY TINY elevator at Julie's apartment complex. We experienced a little of what Julie experiences as only one of us could fit in the elevator with JJ and his stroller. The doors don't close so you have to push up these 2 metal pieces where the doors close. Several times I wasn't pushing hard enough and the elevator got "stuck". I would have to push them in again and push the button for the floor I wanted to go for it to go again. It's a good thing we are not claustrophobic!!
